Tour Itinerary

MANALI - LEH
 

Day 01: Delhi - Kula – The Himalayan Trout House

Start early morning at 5.00 am for the journey by a deluxe SUV (Toyota or similar). Breakfast and lunch enroute. Arrive HTH by early evening. Overnight at the hotel.

 

Day 02: The Himalayan Trout House – Sarchu

Morning drive to Manali and onwards to Sarchu (242 KMS / 11 hrs approx.). Leave for Sarchu by early Morning by 5.am, Breakfast at Marhi, cross Rohtang Pass (13050 ft), Enter Lahaul Valley, Pass by Koksar, Tandi (Where Chandra River Meets Bhaga River), Lunch Break at Keylong, Cross Baralacha Pass (16020 ft), Evening Tea Break at Bharatpur, Reach Sarchu (13953 ft) by Evening. O/N Sarchu.

Day 03: Sarchu - Leh

Morning drive Sarchu to Leh (233 KMS / 9 hrs approx.). Leave for Leh by early morning, through Nakeela & Lachlangla Pass 16,617 ft, Reach Pang by afternoon lunch break at Pang, enroute More Plains (Biggest and Highest Plateau on Earth on Stretch of  42 Kms), Tanglang La Pass (2nd Highest Motorable Road in the World at A Height of 17,585ft) & reaching Upshi, from here the road follows the Indus River, passing villages with there terraced Fields and neat- Whitewashed houses. On a way one notice the ruins have an ancient Fort or palace or the distant glimpse of gompa on a hill. And at last Leh is Reach by evening. O/N Leh. 

Day 04: Leh

Morning visit Spituk and Phyang monasteries. Lunch at Hotel. Afternoon visit Stok Palace and S.O.S. village. Overnight at hotel.

 

Day 05: Leh

Drive to Hemis visiting enroute Shey Palace, Thiksey monastery. Shey palace was built in 1645 by Deldan Namgyal as a summer residence for the kings of Ladakh. It is the oldest palace in Ladakh. Thikse Gompa is the most picturesquely situated in Ladakh. From here one has a magnificent view of the valley. Hemis Gompa is one of the most important in Ladakh, the largest and also the wealthiest. Hemis is the location for numerous religious festivals throughout the year. Overnight at hotel.

Day 06: Leh - Nubra

Morning drive Leh / Nubra via Khardungla, highest motorable pass in the world (124 KMS / 6 hrs approx.). Overnight at camp.  Nubra is located in the north of Leh around 120 kms across the Khardong La (18,380ft). Nubra means "Ldumra" which used to be an important station on the famous silk route leading from Leh to Kashgar through the two passes of Saser and Karakoram. The main attractions of this area are the Bactarian Camels (Double Humped Camels), Khardung-La Pass (world's highest motorable road at 18,380 feet) and the monasteries like Deskit and Samstaling.

Day 07: Nubra - Leh

Morning drive Nubra to Leh (124 KMS / 7 Hrs approx.). Arrive Leh. Overnight at Hotel.

 

Day 08 – Leh – Rafting on the Indus

Day rafting trip on the Indus. Overnight at the Hotel.

 

Day 09: Leh - Sarchu

Drive onwards to Sarchu. On the way will pass through the highest pass on this route - Tanglang - la (5360 m). Overnight at Sarchu

 

Day 10: Sarchu - Jispa

You will cross the Suraj Tal, jewel of a lake, known as one of the sources of the Sun and River Bhaga, which is just below the 4892 m high Baralacha - la Pass. Overnight at Jispa.

 

Day 11: Jispa – The Himalayan Trout House

At Jispa visit Khardong Gompa, the first Buddhist Shrine in Lahaul Before after passing through Keylong. You also go through the Rohtang Pass Today. Drive to The Himalayan Trout House. Overnight at the HTH.

 

Day 12 : The Himalayan Trout House

Indulge in some trout fishing. Rest a while. Take a hike in to the Great Himalayan National Park. Overnight at the Trout House.

 

Day 13 - The Himalayan Trout House – Delhi

Depart for Delhi early morning after a quick breakfast. Lunch and dinner enroute. Arrive Delhi and check in to the hotel.

 

Day 14 – Delhi – US

Back to Delhi

Cost Details

USD - 2100 per person

The above cost includes:

  • All accommodation on twin sharing basis in Tents/Hotels/Forest guest houses and hotels
  • All meals (Indian – Continental - Chinese - Veg. /Non Veg.)
  • All camping  logistics including kitchen staff, support staff and trek leader (Instructors from Nehru Institute of Mountaineering)
  • Transportation by SUV Toyota Qualis or Innova or equivalent
  • All sight seeing as mentioned in the itinerary.
  • One day rafting on the river Indus.
  • An escort for the entire trip.
  • Accommodation in Delhi in a 3 star or equivalent on CP basis (room with b/f only)

Cost does not include:

  • Any expenses of personal nature.
  • Alcohol
  • Phone calls, laundry etc.
  • Personal Insurance.

Payment terms:

50% advance 30 days before.

50% 2 weeks before departure.

Cancellation and refund:

50% 2 weeks before the departure date.

25% 3 weeks before the departure date.

No refund in case of landslide, road blockade etc. Although we try to run the trip to the best of our possibilities but we do not guarantee things beyond our control. Variables like weather, political scenarios, Mechanical faults, medical delays are anyone’s guess.

Notice: (For Foreigners Only)

Minimum 3 weeks notice require formalizing Inner Line Permit and other legal formalities. Clients are requested to send their passports’ photocopies (original) upon confirmation.

Note: Clients should be aware the adventure factor and should be ready for any last minute changes which may be due to weather, mishap or any other emergency.

Best season: July to September

Things to carry: Sleeping bag, good walking shoes, woolens, windproof jacket, sun glasses, sun cream, cap/shade, binoculars, personal medicines etc.
