It is a systematic and structured intervention as the outbound supplement to regular school education. 

Grading is done to ensure continual and upgraded flow of knowledge and skills. The SORTIE is a concept that fosters interaction between the student and the world around. 

The SORTIE as a concept is the result of Five years of painstaking research and on hand experience of professionals working in the field of education and outdoors.
