SORTIE Structure of SORTIE Class 3, 4 & 5: Level Prep - Activity based Picnics and Day outs. Overnight School camping. Class 6 & 7: Level I - Exposure to all three basic themes in a controlled and initiated manner in a series of two programmes (3-5 days each). Class 8 & 9: Level II - Selection of one major theme and starting of specialising schedules in the selected theme. The other themes still form a part of the complete programs but the emphasis is on specialising on the theme of choice by the participant. A series of two programmes (3-5 days each). Class 10 - Intermediate Breakaway Travel Grade (post examination dates) - A long travel program based on themes of exploring the world around (7-12 days). Class 11 - Level III - The culmination and putting to use of skills acquired over the years of The SORTIE. Those specialising in adventure will do climbing and trekking expeditions. The water sports specialists do a river expedition. The nature and development specialists take a long forestry project or a village development schedule; the cultural and historical specialist takes up a restoration project or research in specific areas (7-10 days). All these activities culminate in a presentation / exhibition in the respective fields. Class 12 - Personality Development Schedule - (post examination dates) - This level sees participants when they are about to leave the school umbrella and enter the real world. As such, programs for this grade include aspects relating to personal development, decision-making, career prospects etc. (3-5 days). |
