SORTIE The SORTIE is designed on a simple methodology of continual and selective learning through voluntary choice of the participants. This is achieved by incorporating the natural outdoors as integral tools for imparting subtle education on all our programs. All activities covered under the SORTIE are conducted in natural outdoors and have a subtle yet positive impact on the minds of the participants. The SORTIE methodology kicks off with a brainstorming session with the teachers responsible for chalking out the travel programs. This is followed by an interaction session with the children at the school to assess their knowledge base and peer pressure, inclination and perceptions to the outdoors and their preferences on various themes. A presentation on SORTIE follows. They are theoretically and visually introduced to the various themes under the SORTIE. The underlying themes in SORTIE are Development and Nature - community development aid programs, Environmental programs with forestry studies (like forest fires their impact and prevention), nature (flora, fauna) studies, bird watching trails, plantation drives, Astronomy sessions Cultural and Historic - Studies and projects relating to local music, food, theatre, architecture, language and architecture, art and crafts. Adventure - Rock Climbing and related activities (rappelling, jummarring, sport climbing), river crossing (tyrolene traverse), Trekking, Peak Climbing, Water Sports (Water Skiing, Kayaking and White Water Rafting), Mountain Biking, Skiing |
